Ministry of Health Malaysia's Key messages:

HIV / AIDS is still seen as a major challenge in the countries especially among key population where access to HIV / AIDS prevention and intervention for behavioral changes remains far from expected impact. In addition, changes in patterns of transmission of HIV from injection drug addiction to sexual also requires a change in the prevention and intervention focus. Malaysia is progressing and committed towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by 2030. We are aiming to reach 90% reduction of new HIV cases compared to 2010 baseline. As a first step, the Ministry is also committed to accelerating actions towards 2020 (Fast Track by 2020), a critical indicator that will give an early picture towards achieving Ending AIDS by 2030. To realize this commitment, Malaysia needs to undertake a more drastic and strong interventions to curb HIV / AIDS in this country and so ending the epidemic by 2030.
